Luminant Liberation - E Kraft

charcoal shadows expand then reach

venomous serpentine arms in globs of gouache

striking then exploding across the pristine canvas

splattering into a darkly haunting forest

their burnt branches twist, turn into themselves,

poke their calloused, gnarled knees above the ground

silently rest near their little pet poppies

as a stream of light

trickles through

a gentle

silhouette

translucent

almost ethereal

even to this surrounding
