the slap of the wind on a sunny day - Rabeyah Nezrin
unwilling to leave , but reluctant to stay
peaks of rainbow when the sun glares
too bright to keep, selfish enough to stare
translucent under the club lights with no shadow
miles from home you'll never see my kitchen window
haunting me on the birch trees and in her conversations
there's a picture of us on my window sill with frayed edges that match my frustrations
images of you in london, paris, drinking in vancouver
there's no more space in your weather app i'll choose to move over
used to nights out in different cities
you don't believe the lights on my street are just as pretty
