Bug-Eyed! - Warren LaRocque

Oh, how I want to!

I want it so terribly, so awfully,

to feel the grit of wing and leg between

my teeth!

How I hunger, I hunger, I hunger!

I see it there, smashed beneath my thumb,

sweet and sour and sticky with insect blood!

I shake with need, like Christ on the mount,

drooling with want for chitin on my tongue!

Oh, but I won’t!

The communion of death is forbidden from

my mouth!

Instead I will dream, and dream, and dream

of that little fly on the bathroom wall!

Oh, how I want to!

Warren LaRocque is a 21 year old poet, storyteller, and general layabout. Boasting a perverse fascination with the grotesque and disturbing, his work focuses on, well, the grotesque and disturbing. When he’s not writing poetry, he’s studying at the University at Albany or watching a vampire movie. All he does is think about vampires. We’re worried about him.
