Untitled Ghazal - Rachel Ayiku
A guy and a girl enamored in love but time passes
A guy who misses his girl, girl who rots as time passes
I'm a nervous wreck, important people waiting on me
I stumble, I struggle, I go on because time passes
The first day always feels the longest, so painfully long
Just take a long deep breath and remember that time passes
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance
They say it gets better with time, remember time passes
A darling baby, a bouncing toddler, a happy child
A teen, now an adult, I see how quickly time passes
Winter, spring, summer, and autumn; the seasons change and leaves fall
Can't go back, wait a year, for seasons change and time passes
Gowns of the Gilded Age, short dresses of the roaring twenties
Fashion trends, language, everything changes as time passes
A shy primary student, and awkward Middle-schooler
Now confident in college, Rachel adores how time passes
