Yoga Instructor - Kehinde Adejumo

I walked into the room

without a clue

of what you could do.

You say breathe in -

Can you breathe me out?

I’m not usually so forward

but you got my balance inside out

Downward dog

I’m checking you out,

wishing our bodies

shared one skin

Can you breathe me out?

I’m just trying to keep up

with your moves,

but you’ve got me

out of breath

aching,

yearning

for something I shouldn’t want.

I breathe in -

slow, shaky.

Can you breathe me out?

I imagine your hands

guiding my body into a pose.

Your voice is all I hear -

deep,

low,

pulling me under.

Can you whisper

nasty little secrets

in my ear

while correcting my form?

You don’t even know my name

I call you Heaven,

the way you leave me floating

I’ll be back next week -

for the stretch,

the sweat,

and the way you

undo me

without even trying.
