I am Ashley Cortes, a sophomore undergraduate student at UAlbany. I am a biology major with an English minor. My acrylic painting is called Skyfall. I write short stories and paint during my free time. 

The painting was inspired by my short story called Death to the Future, a short story I presented at the last Showcase Day in 2023, where the main character Blair looks at the rain after mourning the loss of Vergil in a post apocalyptic world that Blair caused due to her mercury research causes the fog to turn people into creatures.
